In the process of standardizing all of its subsidiaries worldwide, MSD launched the effort to use a common platform to process payroll. However, the Mexican Tax System made it hard to implement the procedure. That is why they decided to search for a compatible tool that could solve all their local payroll needs. Kansas City Southern Railroads required the development of a custom system to manage intercompany payments and charges, based on the ownership rights to use railroads in Mexico and the United States. This system had to be certified by a regulatory entity in the US, so it had to meet functional and non-functional standards defined by a third party. The challenge for IIDEA Solutions was to engage in a new business vertical (railroads-logistics) and intensively use Microsoft BizTalk, in addition to our core capability in .Net.

Both challenges were overcome by using the concept of High Performance Teams (HPT), integrating the KCS staff along with the development team from IIDEA Solutions.

Camiones y Motores International is a NAVISTAR company that is always continuously strives to enhance the operation of their Payroll and Human Resources System. In this case, IIDEA Solutions helped them detect some irregularities, and perform the necessary upgrade to the software that was in use. Training courses on advanced payroll themes were carried on to make better use of their tool. Grupo ADO, a leader in the logistics and ground transport in Mexico, with wide experience in the IT area, was in the need to automate a new process inside its organization. Calculation of their budget was a true problem, because they had to take months to consolidate and integrate information. They had to cope with a high degree of difficulty due to the large amount of workers and ample number of concepts.

Farmacias Benavides
Generation of Letter of Record for Wages and Salaries
As an ancillary to payroll processing, Farmacias Benavides had to generate the Letter of Record for Wages and Salaries as required by the new law enforced in the year 2010. To achieve this, changes in the structure of the database were performed so that the government criteria were met.

The solution required updates to both the application and the database, to generate the Letter of Record for Wages and Salaries.

Scope of the Project

  • Requirements review in conjunction with the client, grouping and categorization of concepts, so to avoid as much as possible future changes.
  • Update the system
  • Process parameterization, encompassing pertinent aspects of the process – collections, groupings and socioeconomic indexes.
  • Testing of the generation of the Letter of Record.
  • Generate Letter of Record for Wages and Salaries, as well as the DIMM file.
  • Assist the client in the review of concept accumulates that affect the process of income tax.

The client was able to present its Letter of Record for Wages and Salaries, meeting all the requirements of law.
